Experienced and fledgling cooks both will be inspired by the elegant, state-of-the-art kitchen that emphasizes a healthy lifestyle and gourmet cooking. Led by a registered dietitian-chef, these interactive cooking classes offer practical strategies for selecting, preparing and enjoying simple, yet delicious meals, using “super foods” which can improve health and increase longevity. At the end of the class, you will sit down to enjoy this fabulous meal.

Cooking Skills for Healthy Eating

In this series of interactive teaching classes, students will become knowledgeable and skillful chefs of healthy eating. This month, learn the techniques of roasting, sautéing, puréeing, steaming, grilling and more with chicken and vegetables. Our methods are sure to deliver delicious and nutritious results every time!

  • Apple, Walnut and Spinach Salad with Apple Cider Vinaigrette

It's time to take advantage of the wonderful array of produce available at our local farmer's market. Seasonal produce has more flavor and nutrition, it provides support to our local farmers and it’s a great way to eat sustainably. Let's be inspired by everything this time of year has to offer!

Please join us for a fun and educational evening in the Wellness Kitchen, led by Director of Nutrition Paulette Lambert, R.D., CDE and Guest Chef Dennis Bernstein, owner of Pollen Catering, as we explore the health benefits of the ultimate plant-based, or vegan, diet. Learn how to incorporate small amounts of vegetarian cuisine into your diet and improve your health for many years to come in this Wellness Kitchen cooking demonstration and dinner. This experience will benefit both vegan and non-vegan guests, and a portion of the proceeds from the evening will help fund healthy lunch programs at local schools.

Fresh seafood, tropical fruits such as pineapple and other island flavors come to life during an interactive hands-on cooking experience and luncheon celebrating the rich history of food in Hawaii which is influenced by cultures from around the world.
